Brock J Alonzo, MD

Dr. Alonzo grew up in Missoula. He graduated from Montana State University with highest honors in Cell Biology & Neuroscience and earned his medical degree with highest distinction (Alpha Omega Alpha) from Oregon Health & Science University in Portland Oregon. He then completed an internship at Scripps Mercy Hospital in San Diego California before returning to Oregon Health & Science's Casey Eye Institute where he completed his ophthalmology residency. He then completed an advanced fellowship in glaucoma, cataract and intraocular lens surgery at the University of Utah's Moran Eye Center in Salt Lake City Utah. Dr. Alonzo is board certified and is a member of the American Glaucoma Society, American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery and Alpha-Omega-Alpha Honor Medical Society. In his practice, Dr. Alonzo specializes in cataract surgery and the treatment of glaucoma. He enjoys being able to restore vision with the latest surgical technology and offers the most advanced intraocular lens implants including toric and multifocal lenses. Additionally, he enjoys the relationships built with his glaucoma patients having the common goal of preserving sight. He offers numerous treatment options for glaucoma including traditional topical medications, selective laser trabeculoplasty (SLT) and the latest minimally invasive glaucoma surgeries (MIGS). Dr. Alonzo's wife Erin also grew up in Missoula. They have three daughters. When he is not seeing patients, he enjoys spending time outdoors fly-fishing, hunting, skiing and mountain biking.
