Professional Statement
Dr. Patrick Curry is a board-certified, fellowship-trained orthopedic spine surgeon specializing in the treatment of cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine conditions, including disc herniation, spinal stenosis, spinal cord compression, and spinal deformities. He performs a wide range of procedures, from minimally invasive spine surgery to complex reconstructive and revision surgeries.
Raised near Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Dr. Curry earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Scranton before receiving his medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine. He completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals and was selected to participate in the American Orthopedic Association Resident Leadership Forum. He then completed advanced fellowship training in orthopedic spine surgery at the University of Utah.
While his career ultimately led him to medicine, Dr. Curry's path was anything but conventional. After college, he taught high school and spent time working at St. Michael Indian School on the Navajo Nation. Following that experience, he embarked on a cross-country road trip that sparked a lasting connection to the West.
"I fell in love with Montana the first time I drove through it," Dr. Curry says. "Growing up, I spent a lot of time fishing with my grandfather in Pennsylvania, and Montana felt like a place I wanted to return to someday."
Today, Dr. Curry is passionate about helping patients return to the activities they enjoy most. His approach to care emphasizes conservative treatment whenever possible, reserving surgery for situations where nonoperative options have not provided relief.
"I try to tailor treatment to each patient," he says. "When surgery is necessary, my goal is to perform the least invasive procedure that will effectively address the problem, relieve pain, and provide a lasting result."
Outside the clinic and operating room, Dr. Curry enjoys fishing, hiking, rock climbing, and hunting. He and his wife have two young children, and as a family they love spending time outdoors and exploring all that Montana has to offer.
Dr. Curry is proud to serve the Bitterroot Valley and is committed to providing high-quality, patient-centered spine care close to home.
