Joel M Walthall, DO

Joel Walthall was raised in Bozeman, MT where he found a passion for everything outdoors. An avid skier fly fisherman, hunter, outdoorsman and water sports enthusiast, he has always sought opportunities to explore the wildlands of the Northwest. After graduating from Montana State University, he married his college sweetheart Taylor and together they became fly fishing guides in Alaska. Dr Walthall's journey into medicine took him from the salmon-laden streams of the Cook Inlet to a stem cell research lab at Vanderbilt University where he worked on several NIH-funded research projects. He then went on to attend medical school at Western University of Health Sciences in Oregon's Willamette Valley. Dr. Walthall completed his residency at Mclaren Oakland hospital of Michigan State University. Upon completion of his fellowship at Taos Orthopedic Institute, Dr. Walthall and his wife Taylor and four children, Reecelyn, Madison, Wes and Brynley are excited for the return to Montana!
