Nishan H Chobanian, MD

Dr. Nick Chobanian is the Chief Medical Officer at Bitterroot Health, a role he assumed in 2025. A board-certified Gynecologic Oncologist, Dr. Chobanian brings a wealth of clinical and leadership experience from both military and civilian healthcare settings.

He earned his medical degree from Brown University School of Medicine and completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Wright Patterson Air Force Base. He went on to complete a fellowship in Gynecologic Oncology at the University of Kentucky Medical Center. In addition to his medical training, Dr. Chobanian holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.

Throughout his distinguished career, Dr. Chobanian has held numerous leadership positions, including Director of Gynecologic Surgery and Robotics, Chairman of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and most recently, Vice President of Medical Affairs and Senior Physician Executive at a hospital in Maine.

In his role at Bitterroot Health, Dr. Chobanian combines administrative leadership with ongoing part-time clinical practice in Gynecologic Oncology. He is committed to advancing patient care, fostering clinical excellence, and supporting the professional development of healthcare teams.

Dr. Chobanian resides in Corvallis with his wife, a pharmacist. Together, they enjoy running, swimming, traveling, and SCUBA diving. They have grown children living across the country.
